Not all sore throats require antibiotics. A quick test can save you an unnecessary doctors visit.
The pharmacist will swab the tissue at the back of the throat and place it in a special reagent and assay which determines if there is any antigen from Strep A bacteria.
If the test detects Strep A bacteria, prescription antibiotics are indicated. If you're unable to see a doctor in town, we can book you an appointment through one of our virtual platforms. Spend less time in waiting rooms, and more time resting.
The sore throat is likely viral and will resolve without treatment. The pharmacist is happy to go over non-prescription options to manage symptoms until the sore throat has resolved.
No appointments required. We are happy to offer prompt walk-in testing and advice.
